Fishy's, weiners, and mallows.

This past Friday, Levi and I decided that we need a mini-getaway from the city. (Those urges hit us often, it's just seldom we actually get to act on them) We decided to go fishing at one of our favorite spots up here in Ogden, Causey reservoir. We LOVE Causey! It's so pretty and is only like 45 min. away from our house up past Huntsville.

Levi waiting out the rain/hail.

The afternoon started out kinda cold, with a little hail trying to spoil our fun. But, it past pretty quickly and we were smooth sailing. This was our first fishing outing for 2010, so it was our first chance to use the fishing stuff I got Levi for Christmas! It turns out the fishy's liked the orange, sparkly powerbait... we caught 8!!!

My first of five catches!

We reeled in two at the same time. Real sharks ain't they?

Levi trying to decide how long we have before the rain hits... turned out... we didn't have long. Just enough time for each of us to roast a hot-dog and inhale it.

While it's true that we caught 8 fish, none were big enough to keep. Good thing we came prepared with hot-dogs and smores stuff! We headed down the canyon a ways and stopped to roast the weiners and mallows at a campsite. Right as we got there however, and just got the fire going it started to rain... hard. So we high-tailed it out of there and headed back to Ogden. We stopped at a park just a little ways from our house and finished our weinie-roast there.

I forgot to move the charcoal lighter. :)

Levi cooking AND eating the s'mores. (We used Keebler Fudge Striped Cookies with mallows for the S'mores... they were so good!)

So sexy.

Good fishin, good weiners, good mallows, GOOD TIMES!

Sam, your post title is a little TMI, while I am happy that you got to go fishing and enjoy smores, what you and Levi do for extra-curricular cardio-fun should be kept to yourself....sheesh.

Sounds like a blast!! Steve is SO jealous...he's been dying to go fishing for weeks now. That looked like a pretty place to go...maybe we'll have to try it out. :)

Ok, Angie said what we were all thinking but Sam's comment is still making me laugh. Dying...I'm dying you two are too funny.
