Our favorite little get-away.

I talked Levi into a little get-away yesterday after church. ("talked into" isn't exactly accurate. He likes to go as much as I do, so it really was more of a suggestion.) I have had a crazy 2 weeks of work and being 7 months pregnant, I was ready for a little relaxation.  So we loaded up the truck with hotdogs, some .22's, bugspray, lounge chairs, and (of course) my camera, and headed up to Cottenwood!

I love this place. I love that it is so close yet, you feel so so far away from things. Like you're all alone from the world for a brief moment.  Of course, neither one of us can go to one of the ranches (Between both our families there are 4!), and not work a little bit. So we started out mowing the lawn.  It's a riding lawn mower, so I was actually able to help on this one and jumped on the chance to feel useful again. :)

After we were done cleaning up, we just sat in our lounge chairs and relaxed. And by relaxing I mean blasting the heck out of some old pop cans with the .22's, and read part of my book. Once we got a fire going with some good coals (don't bring up waiting for coals in our household, it's a constant battle), we roasted hot dogs, ate macaroni salad and just enjoyed being there.

So happy to have a little slice of heaven (Cottonwood) so close to our little slice of heaven (Kanab) :)
