Убегите от края!!!!! (Translation: Get away from the edge!!!!)

Me+4 teenage Russians+ a giant hole in the ground = One heck of an outing!!!!

Let me explain:
At the restaurant that I work at there are about 4-5 Russian students who come over every summer on some exchange thing to work for the summer. My boss asked (suckered) me into taking them all to the Grand Canyon. (someone else got suckered into Bryce and Zion.) So me... being the wonderful, pleasent, helpful person I am agreed. How did it go? Well... let's just say there was little conversation and lots of me yelling at them to get away from the edge! (To which they only grinned and stepped out further.) I hate it that they could understand me and I couldn't understand a word they were saying!!!

I LOVED the old lodge there at the park! It sits right on one of the rims and overlooks the whole canyon. This was my favorite spot in the whole park. It's the backview from the lodge and overlooks the whole canyon! It was so pretty.
I kept telling them that I couldn't send them back to their mothers in Russia in tiny pieces and to get away from the edge!!! (That's what the title of this blog says in Russian incase you were wondering!) But they only would grin and tell me to relax and climb out a bit further. I hadn't been to the Grand Canyon in years, so it was fun to go and see it again, even though I almost had a heart attack in the process!!! (I will no longer harrass my mother for the time she took us and spent the whole time yelling at us to "get away from the edge!")

Anyways... for those of you who haven't been to the Grand Canyon, you might like the pictures...for those of you who have, well, the big hole in the ground hasn't changed much!!!

If you ever go... just remember to Get Away from the Edge!!!

Oh Cuz, you're making me homesick. The closest thing we have back here in Pennsylvania to a hole let alone a canyon is a construction ditch off the side of the road. I miss the red hills and desert. Matt
