Mach 9... Haul-ass-fast!

My sister Jamie has been snowboarding for a couple of years now. I have always wanted to go, but was never able to, do to sports. (In high school it was my dad, in college it was my contract-at-stake, you-could-break-your-leg, etc.) So this year for Christmas she took me to Brian Head to hit the slopes for the first time.
She was an awesome teacher. And I knew exactly what she wanted me to do when she told me to do something... the problem however... is that apparently I only have one speed. And that is haul-ass-fast! She was teaching me to "plow" and when she would turn her board that way she would slow down (easy enough right?). Well I would try it and was successful in getting my board turned that way... but I would not slow down... EVER!!!! I just shot down the mountain like a friggin bolt of lightning facing straight foreward!!!
She kept telling me to, "slow down," like I wasn't trying to do just that! I was freaking trying people... I just couldn't!!!
Jamie tells the story much better than I do... but I'll give it a shot. We started out at the top of the hill together and before I knew it... I was flying (and I do mean flying...note the title of this post) down the side of the mountain. In Jamie's words, this is what happened next:
"I was boarding down the hill, when all of a sudden I see Sam fly past me going like Mach 9! I tried to catch her but couldn't. Seriously, she was flying. Then she went over this little drop in front of me and then all I see is this big POOF!!! and snow flying everywhere. It was hilarious"
I did wipe out pretty hard a couple of times... (Jamie says one was the wipe out of the year... hmmm... glad I was the recipient of that one.) but it was totally worth it! I loved it, and can't wait to go again. (That is.. if Jamie will be seen with me on the slopes again.)
This is pretty much what my butt looked like the entire time. Pretty much sums up my skill huh?
