In honor of my 25th birthday I decided to try out a different kind of birthday cake. Now before you all start to slam be on being so self centered, at least give me a chance to defend myself. I've wanted to learn how to make cute birthday cakes for a while... you know... for Levi and my kids some day. (No... ALL my sisters... I am NOT pregnant!!! But even I, the sister with the least amount of child instincts does think about that from time to time.) So I figured why not practice on my own cake. I mean, if I'm going to screw one up, I'd just as well screw up my own.
Anyways... I got the cake idea off of a blog called Make it... and Love it. (There's a link to their site off to the right... as well as some of my other favorites.) They do a cake decorating spot every so often and I LOVED it! The stuff Brittney can do with a cake is amazing! I can't believe I was able to successfully cover a cake with fondant! Now I just need more excuses to make a cute cake!!!
This is the "ta-da" shot. (Notice all the corn starch on my clothes? My entire kitchen looked like that!)
The finished product is a delicious, double-layered, fondant covered, polka-dotted masterpiece!!!

Really cute! I love your new table too. Looks like a lot of work but I can't believe it is the same table in the before and after shots!
